I’ve been asked quite a few times if BeWarmer could supply the correct type of underlay for the RugBuddy under rug heater. It sounds an easy thing to do but there are various factors to consider.
For a start, the ‘correct’ type depends on the floor finish and the construction of the floor. Carpets need ‘anti-creep’ while hard floors need ‘anti-slip’.
On top of this, if the hard floor isn’t wood or laminate, then you’ll only get the best performance if the underlay also insulates. After all, you wouldn’t want all that lovely warmth disappearing down into the floor.
(Insulation isn’t generally a problem with carpet, wood and laminate floors as these nearly always have their own underlay.)
We have limited warehouse space so stocking a range of sizes with the required different properties was out of the question and another solution was needed.
I’m now pleased to say you can order ‘anti-creep‘ (for carpet) and ‘anti-slip‘ (for wood or laminate) from this website.
I’m still working on a solution for an insulating underlay for the RugBuddy under rug heater but, as I’ve said before, it needn’t be expensive. 6 – 7 mm (or more if you’re not worried about the thickness) of Polyurethane (PU) foam works well.
